Dear all,
I need to use the result of a COMSOL calculation as the starting point for a model in Sarccm+. So far, I can see that COMSOL only writes .mphbin and .mphtxt files (at least these are the option offered when I click on 'export mesh to file'). In the Help pages I find some lines which seem to express that COMSOL can also write .stl files (which starccm+ should be able to read), but I am unable to find out how to do this.

I would be grateful for any kind of advice!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,
you can export .stl files by right-clicking the Export node under Results, and then selecting Mesh. Note that the stl option is only available in 3D and the format only represents the surface mesh. If you have more questions, feel free to contact support@comsol.com.

Hi Niklas,
thanks a lot for the response! My model was originally a 2d model; I am not working on a smaller 3d version to generate the .stl file. I am not exactly a comsol expert (yet ) and so I am struggling a bit with beginner's stuff.
Best wishes!
