We are having problems with forum-subscriptions in the OpenFOAM forum. For some reason digests are not being sent out, although everything seems to work and no problems are reported when subscribing to this forum. We are investigating the problem, but for the moment we don't know what causes it

We now know what causes this problem. Apparantly the forum software requires that the sub-forum-branch-roots receive message themselves in order to also include the child forums in that branch in the email digests. The forum software does not support subscription to categories that do not receive any posts themselves.
The simple solution is to instead subscribe to all sub-forum childs that you are interested in. I will look at the forum source code to see if I can find a way to solve this, but don't expect any miracles. The SQL statements used in this software are almost as difficult to decipher as OpenFOAM source code is for someone who has never seen an object oriented programming language before |
