Hi
I'm a fresher in CFD and Star ccm I'm modelling a simple case which is 3D larminar internal flow in a pipe Pipe length = 1000mm Pipe diameter = 10mm Mesh size = 0.5mm Velocity = 0.3m/s I attached some plots and you can have a look However the plot for fully developed velocity profile is incorrect Anyone can point out which step I got wrong? How do I fix this problem? Thanks in advance |

Check the position and direction of your line probe. You can also create an plane section to visualize the velocity distribution at a scalar scene at the position where your line probe is. Does the scalar displayer also shows just three areas of velocity?

Hi,
1. Uniform flow on the face of inlet comparing with parabolic patterm flow. 2. Do you add the prism layer near the wall? There is a simulation about the fully development flow in the user guide of Star-CCM+, validations parts. BR |

actually I used trimmer and surface remesher I did some modification in mesh and you can have a look I went through some info from help guide of star ccm It is said that an interface needed to be created, is it right? |

Ke,
Your mesh looks fine. Create a line probe with resolution you want. create the line probe across the diameter in the flow field with input part as your fluid region. I hope this solves your problem. P.S. I would also suggest to create prism layer to examine boundary layers. \ |
