Reg - Vertical Axis wind mill analysis

Hello everyone, i am doing an analysis on vertical axis windmill using star CCM+. I have some doubt on my analysis which i mentioned it below.

i had modeled the blade as per the dimension (1846 x 372)and i need to calculate the force acting on the surface of the blade. initially a had made an rectangular environment and had placed the blade front face facing one third of the rectangular environment original length. Isthis is right or any standard is available for placing it. If any standards available kindly mention it too.

I am doing a similar project as yours in 3d. Have you had any sucess with the results in fluent yet?

Hi,
This is sivaramakrishniah,i am also analsying in vertical blade airfoil,
that is completed, very good results came(but that is 2D simulation,now i am starting 3D simulation,how to meshing for 3D blade in GAMBIT SOFTWARE,
THAT I HAVE DOUBT,i think you know,please clarify my doubts.

i am analysis in wind turbine profile
first i was created in 2D geometry in GAMBIT,that i was exported in FLUENT,
converging good,but DRAG AND LIFT SHOWING WRONG.
VELOCITY OF AIR 15 m/s,angle of attack 12 dec
