Hello All, I am preparing the mesh for Heat Exchanger considering solid and fluid surface mesh. But I face the error : orient face ( incorrect) outward - cannot volume mesh. Could you please suggest how to fix it?
Thanks |

Are you using Star-CD/CCM to generate the mesh?

Is it possible you have a negative cell volume, resulting in an invalid face?
I'd recommend you run the mesh diagnostics and allow the software to repair the cells, or faces, on the fly. |

I am using starccm+ for meshing. I have already check the mesh and ccm+ show its correct
the error is Surface is not closed -- cannot orient outward Surface is not manifold -- cannot orient outward Input surface to surface remesher is not oriented outward. Checking proximity in both directions ---------------------------------------- Executing Surface Remesher ---------------------------------------- |

You mentioned you are doing a heat exchanger with solid and fluid regions. Note the message also says Not Manifold - so it sounds like your surfaces and interfaces have not been well defined - read the extensive help on multi-region meshing, and then make the required changes to ensure your have good interfaces between your regions. I also suggest you do this tutorial first: Training Guide > Meshing Tutorials > Heat Exchanger Unit Meshing Tutorial

I suggest you need to create a interface between the solid and fluid, with -> convert to interface.
Witch turbulentmodell do you use in your simulation? Rabat |
