Hi!
I'm trying, for the first time, to do a boat simulation in Starccm+. I don't know how to define the initial definition of the interface air/water. In the 2D tutorial there is an initial distribution as field function... Thanks |

use the same technique - let's say up-down is in the Z dir with water surface at Z=0, then create a FF with air above z=0, water below. When you initialise you will see the water at the correct location if you have done it correctly.
The newish 6DOF feature can also be used with a flat wave - it has a parameter for water level - see the demo video below: http://www.cd-adapco.com/media/demos.../DFBI_demo.swf |

Thanks a lot! I'm using the 3.04 version, so I suppose that the 6DOF is on the 3.06. I will try it as soon as possible. All ok about the initial distribution of the free surface now, after few iterations, I've an overflow error: any suggestion? Perhaps I have to work on the iteration steps settings...
