Hi everyone !! im currently doing a project which is using star-cd to create a model building and analyse the air flow around it. firtly i need to draw a model. but it looks a lot easer to do so by auto-cad. can the acto-cad drawing be converted into star-cd for analysis? or can anyone recommend other softwares which are easy for the drawing bit. Plz help me!!thank you very much!!!!

Use STAR-Design to draw your geometry. It's very easy.
If you have the choice (which you should), run it in STAR-CCM+ S. |

try export the CAD model from auto-cad as stl, igs, stp format. then import this file to star-cd..
if it is not absolutely necessary don't use star-cd, use star-ccm+.. good luck.. |

Invest a bit of time in flexibility and use a CFD independant SW. USE RHINO 3D which an import and export to any format. You will not regret it and the cost is minimal even if you purchase the SW. Ok it only works under Windows.
Good luck |

SW maybe, Rhino3D isn't a solid modeler and the export is poo.
STAR-Design is included as part of your installation, so it's free to you, it's trivial to learn and it's good enough to do what you want. |
