Tutorial 13 in version 3.26.004 - simple ICE

I am fairly new to Star-CD. I need to do a simple model of an ICE for a project I'm doing but I don't have access to es-ice. I have been going through tutorial 13 in version 3.26.004 but am stuck at the part where it says to run the analysis. Under the "CFD Analysis (STAR)" heading it says to type star into the STAR-CD session window. Which window is this? I tried typing it in the pro-STAR output window but that clearly isn't it. Any help will be very much appreciated.

are you running your model in windows or LINUX
If windows.. In the STAR GUIDE panel go to ANALYSIS PREPARATION/RUNNING and then to RUN ANALYSIS INTERACTIVELY .the you can see start new analysis. If LINUX... Same thing can be done.. but if you bring the model form ES-Ice then go to terminal and then working directory and type STAR -dp |

Oh ok. The tutorial intructions must assume that you are using LINUX. I thought that maybe I couldn't got to RUN ANALYSIS INTERACTIVELY because it is a moving mesh problem as the other tutorials say to do this but 13.1 does not. I guess the person who wrote 13.1 assumed the user was using LINUX. Thanks very much for your help!

I just tried that and it says "Moving grid analysis cannot be run interactively through pro-STAR. Use batch mode". Can someone please tell me what batch mode is?

Ok..
Batch mode is nothing but running without graphical interface. you can run that using the button available in starlaunch window. (the one you use to go to prostar). set the working directory first and then run the solver. |
