While running a transient analysis with moving mesh, I am getting the following kind of error. Will it affect the solution. How to avoid the kind of error?

This means that the cells you're removing are not fully collapsed. Try to make a preview run with mesh motion only (i.e. no flow field simulation). For this set RCONST 4 to 1.0

Hi Anton,
Thanks for your reply.Can u explain me how to preview the run with mesh motion & To set the RCONST value, whether I need to type the same in Pro/star output window? |

Hi anton,
As you said i did preview run with mesh motion by setting RCONST 4 to 1.0. After completion of run, if I check in the info file, following warning message displayed *** WARNING #113 *** CELL 17 BEING REMOVED HAS NON-ZERO SIDE AREAS - CHECK IN PROSTAR FOR POSSIBLE MESH MOVEMENT ERROR" I run the cold flow simulation(Only compression stroke simulation) using time step as 0.25 deg.simulation completed & I was able to see the results like velocity,pressure distribution.Pressure values obtained fro the simulation are not matching to the calculated value. But still there is a warning message mentioned above in the info file. |

The idea of mesh preview run is to check visually your mesh at every time step. So before running the mesh preview you need to turn on writing the results to transient post file (pstt) at every time step. After this you will be able to see the actual condition of your mesh at the desired moment of time (don't forget to turn on Moving Mesh option when loading pstt file). Look at cell 17 to check weather it's fully collapsed at moment of its removal.
