Sphere in STAR-CD

Hi, I am creating a simple sphere in STAR-CD. I can create it with the sperical coordiates system. After creation, when I go to check cells, it shows negative volume error. I did check for left and right handed cells and then made all right handed. But then it shows some crack errors. After that if I use VMERGE ALL , message comes.. vertices deleted. Then my whole geometry vanishes. And if I check by COUN CELLs, the message shows the celltype and number of cell and number of cell in cplot as expected. still I can not see geometry. Please let me know if anybody knows how to remove error in Sphere in STAR-CD. Thank you in advance

I am having the same problem. I can generate the sphere. Then flip to right handed cells and I create the couple. I do have 'crack' error which means unconnected regios. can anyone help me for this.

You will find the corret way of meshing a sphere on
http://www.beilke-cfd.de/sphere.mdl.gz Using the "vd3d" command in a spherical coordinate system is crap. Creating the mesh in prostar requires the use of blocks and some smoothing. This mesh was created using GridPro within 2 minutes. |

Hello, I had the same thing in torroidal C.S. - I guess it was incorrect determination of radius (-r,r) of angles. If you try to play with these parameters you can get what you need.
