Hi,
Are you running the combustion with es-ice model or you have modelled in prostar. If in prostar Initial mixture fraction will be Zero for all the species. If you know the mass fraction of the individual species you can initialise it addional scalars- initialisation. If in es-ice All the species will be initialised to the stoichiometric combustion. I think i have answered your question if not clear mail me |

I am using prostar. carburated SI engine(Gasoline) simulation. I am Simulating compression ,combustion ,and expansion only. What is the value i need to specify for mixture fraction?

you may try to have a look at: http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Mixture_fraction for the definition of mixture fraction.
You should understand such a basic term before you start to model any combustion. try to have look around if you can have a look into books like: http://www.cfd-online.com/Books/show...hp?book_id=273 or: http://www.amazon.com/Combustion-Fun...5323235&sr=8-1 or: http://www.amazon.com/Introduction-C...ref=pd_sim_b_5 or any other book on combustion. |
