Heat transfer coefficient calculation.

Hi guys,
I am using Star-CD to simulate coolant flows. We need to input Tbulk when calculating the HCoefficient. From my understanding, Tbulk should be the bulk temperature relative to the reference temperature (not absolute temperature), but I didn't find anything from the Star-CD manuals to support this. Who can confirm this for me? Thanks, Jimmy |

You could confirm it by getting the boundary heat flux, temperature and hcoeff for the same boundary cell and doing the calculation by hand.
Alternatively work up a small OPERATE script to calculate Hcoeff for all boundaries then subtract Prostar's Hcoeff from it and confirm that all cells show essentially zero. I believe that you are correct in your understanding of Hcoeff. |

Thank you very much for your help.
Now I use the relative bulk temperature (Tbulk-Tref) to calculate the Hcoefficient, the result looks reasonable. |
