Hi,

The subject pretty much covers my problem.

When I'am trying to run a case the solver crashes at the decomposition of the mesh. The error is something like: "star402.exe generated an error and must be closed" - it is a kind of standard xp error I think.

So how do I solve this problem? Does anyone experience similar problems?

More info:

I have 1.850.000 cells it is steady state and geom(CCM) file is writen without any problems.

I have a region with porous media and some solid and porous baffles.

My PC is a quad core xeon 3GHz with 8 GB ram. Trying to use to processors.

maybe try something like

star -decompose 4

from the windows shell and see what you get.

if this works then try

star -nodecomp 4

Support has been working on this for a while now. sadly...

*Here is the solution:

Install Star-CD's version 4.0 which comes in 64 bit now.

Parallel works and everything is fine now.

Thay have recently released the 64 bit version (mid september)..
