Yes it can. Which bit are you unsure about?

As we all know,if the software can be interfaced with modeFRONTIER,it must read input and processing instructions from either the command line or an external file,or in batch mode automatically.
But in the help files and tutorials of STAR-CCM+,where can i find the contents about"read input and processing instructions from either the command line or an external file,or in batch mode automatically"? or could u tell me where i can find the engineering about the use of modeFRONTIER with CCM+? Through Google or Through ESTECO Company net? Thank u very much! |

STAR-CCM+ can be run in batch mode (-batch), and its scripting language comes in the form of java macros. Search the help for batch and macros. The easiest way to do it is to record a macro of what you want to do, which you can then edit as you want.
I saw a presentation at this year's London UGM from Icon (a consultancy firm) showing work they'd done with modeFrontier and STAR-CCM+. Plus, there was a demo of modeFrontier driving STAR-CCM+ through CATIA using STAR-CAT5. If you contact CD-adapco, they may be able to provide that. |

Hi!
My problem is that when mode frontier makes star ccm+ begin work, then it doesn't wait the results, so gives an error saying he misses the outputs from star ccm+ (as obvious because he doesn't wait for them). Any idea? Thank you. |

Well I don't directly interface MF to CCM+, and uses an intermediate shell script which pilots the calculation on the cluster. The scripts is launched via a "rsh" node in MF.
MF waits for the completion of the rsh action (which checks the completion of the case on the cluster) but you nee to set the timeout to 0, otherwise MF may not wait. It could be the same for a direct interface to CCM+. |
