Simulation of pollutant dispersion in a city

Dear all,
I have some questions (problems) about STAR-CD concerning the simulation of dispersion in an urban city. More specific I have created the computational domain, boundaries (wall inlet etc) and my purpose is to create "something" which can simulate a pollutant from a point source. The position of source is on the ground so I thought to define a cell face as inlet of pollutant. Is this correct or STAR-CD can simulate point sources? Then additional scalar for pollutant was the next step (pollutant was AIR). I gave a velocity in boundary conditions for pollutant and mass fraction in the inlet of pollutant. Do you know what is the purpose of mass diffusivities and Schmidt number and if I have to change them according to the kind of pollutant? Do you know what else do I need to simulate dispersion of pollutants? Thank you very much in advance. Best regards George |

calculating a steady problem is ok 1.city surrounding without polluted air 2.on the base of problem 1 flow field, added passive scalar at the point source 3.on the base of problem 1 flow field, added activeive scalar at the point source
thats all |
