Hello, I am trying to give a heat source input to a solid material. Since I need to determine the temperature distribution, the input for heat is Q (W/m3). Should i be using sorent.f ?? Comments will be appreciated. Thanks, Mac.

U can use sorent.f or tables also. Personally I think sorent works better and is easier to use. U only have to set S1P=...w/m3 and S2P=0 specifing witch type of cell this source is applied.

if(ictid.eq.33) then S1p=... S2p=0 elseif

return end

this is the way I use it let me know if it's work properly!

U can set a table defining s1p and s2p for an enthalpy source. Then U assign this table to a cell type in source panel. But I've just said you, I don't know if it works well.

Dear scibor,

For Fixed Temperature i can give, S1p=GREAT*T S2p=GREAT

what should i do for Volumetric heat flux?, how do i do that?

Thanks

Hi,nava I have the same problems with you. But I don't know why you set S1P=great*T and S2P=great. what is mean of the "great"? why should you time the "great" in S1P and S2P?

If you know the total heat (W), you can calculate the volume of the source cell (m3). Your Volumetric heat is total heat/ volume.
