Is it possible to perform a thermal analysis (only conduction between solid) with pro star??? How can I impose the thermal exchange coefficient (hcoeff) on some surfeces??? I'd like to explain you why I have to do this but it's to long in for a short message... thanks rafpax

Hello, experts!
I'm considering a droplet (axial direction) injection problem in the position of middle of pipe line. By the way, the number of mesh (about 2,000,000 cell) for the problem is too big to dealing. So I'd like to use the the symmetry boundary on the middle of the model. But I'm not familiar with droplet spray problem. Can I take the symmetry plane boundary on the middle of the model for this droplet injection problem? What happen if droplets are impinged at the symmetry plane boundary? Thanks in advance. SJLee |

SJLee, a way that I have done this same problem is to model 1/4 of the pipe and then set up cyclic boundaries. I was actually able to benchmark against some air/water tests we had done. We had a complex geometry inside the pipe that resulted in a model of 200 million cells for the full problem. So we quartered it, used cyclics on the to edges where it was cut, and it worked fine.
