Hi, I'm trying to post process a propeller model, and want to show the extents of the propeller wake in ccm+, does anyone know how to write a field function to calculate this? Specifically I can't figure out how to calculate gradients in ccm+

Thanks,

Dan

To get the gradients you need click on the solver node (segregated flow or coupled flow) and click "retain temporary storage) then step once. I wouldn't run with temporary storage retained as it uses more memory, but it will give you a load of extra field functions including strain rates, all the gradients, residuals etc. You can then calculate vorticity from the gradients....I am afraid I can't remember the formulation but I am sure that someone can give you the formula to put into a new field function..

Hey Ben,

Thanks alot, that's a big help, I should be able to figure out the formulations once I get the gradients.

Cheers,

Dan
