Reducing all vertices in 'x' direction

I would like to know whether there is an easy way of reducing the 'x' direction of all vertices within a spcified range, i.e. if you have say 1000 verticies, how can you reduce the 'x' co-ordinates of all the verticies from 500 - 1000 by a fixed number without having to do it manually?
Is there anybody that could help please? Thanks Best Regards Yehia |

Thanks for that, but if it's possible can you explain to me what the command means, i.e. i know v gen means and the dx, dy, dz, but what do the 2 0 represent?
Here is my problem: I have a total of 43718 verticies, and want to reduce all verticies from 58-121 and then from 30421-end by 0.522m in the 'x' direction, how can I do that? I don't want to add new verticies, rather just manipulate the ones I already have. Thanks for your help Regards Yehia |

vset news vran 58 121
vgen 2 0 vset ,,, -0.522 which means, that you recreate the vertices in the vertex set at a news position what about "help vgen" |
