My info comes directly from CD-Adapco UK, but to be honest I think the 31. of february is a more realistic date...

because linux/unix is easiler to build upon. if you look at the programming behind it, building multiple platforms takes more time, so CD-adapco builds the STAR on linux/unix first and then on Windows: simplier to more difficult. in the future the STAR will be built for all platforms at the same time in an universal language, but for now, one by one (sorta parallel too). \ besides, why are you running on windows anyway? once you install any linux (i suggest suse or redhat), run star-cd/ccm+, you will never use windows again. the only fair exuse to have windows machine running that is not virutal.. having to use solidworks or catia. i have no idea why that company refuses to build on unix/linux when the rest of the engineering world uses unix/linux.
all the best! |
