Hello all! I'm sure most of us have come across mesh automatic adaptivity wonders in the literature as made popular by Fluent. I wonder if like function is available in Star-CD and if yes, how to do it?

Look into the AMG option..

It slows down the time spend on each iteration but eventually makes the residuals drop faster.

hey thanks!

I suppose u're thinking of this effect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multigrid_method

I am more thinking of this method though (the dynamic one) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptive_mesh_refinement

Other than manually refining the mesh, is there a dynamic or automatic way to do it, using plug-ins or that sort?
