Installation problem

I have a problem with StarCd. After a windows bug (as usual), i had to clean up my computer, and so reinstall Starcd. An error appears :
Licensing problem: Unable to list licensed features No such feature exists License path: C:\Program Files\CD-adapco\license\license.dat;C:\Program - Files\CD-adapco\STAR-CD/license/license.dat FLEXlm error: -5,163. System Error: 2 "" For further information, refer to the FLEXlm End User Manual, available at "www.macrovision.com". It seems to be a license trouble but I don't understand which kind of problem ? |

that is because your sales manager did not give you the installation notes. You have to remind him to send you the installation notes of the software. Did you download the manual:

Sure I did ! Actually, I need to use it as soon as possible and the person who is in charge is not reachable and the macrovision sever was down last week...
What is exactly FLexlm ? If I understand, it's a kind of license provider isn't it ? |

flexlm is the license manager. If the machine that acts as your flexlm server is down, you will not be able to run STAR, regardless of whether your sales manager gave you the installation notes or not.

Where do you have your license - at your computer on at the remote server? For the first case check LM_LICENSE_FILE system variable (it can be also CDLM_LICENSE_FILE) - it should be pointing to your license file
