recently I simulate a solid transfering heat.I use the gambit to build model which is transferred to star cd. type of model is setted to solid. there are two boundary conditions.after couples be done,I save the model and geometry file and problem file. All three command(save model, geometry, problem)is ok. therefore ,I go to next step.I locate the boundary area. when I locate the unstructured cell surface beeing a boundary area.I go to save three commands(save model, geometry, problem).after saving model,I also write the geometry file, but the output tells me the boundary vertexs cannot merge the cell vertex.I feel very strange.~ can anyone tell me that can star cd simulate heat transfering by solid material?

It is possible.
You should go through some of the tutorials and read the manual at first. |

After conducting the tutorials, there is really no example to simulate solid heat transfering.
Do you mean I should use (pro-am,pro-fe,es tool.....or sth..?)Pliz help me~ thank you ~ |

tutorial 12.2 "conjugate heat transfer"
... and the geomwrite and prob(lemwrite) are the last steps of the preprocessing. the order of the steps you described was a bit strange. thats why you should run some tutorials at first. |

The conjugate heat transfer is very much possible in STAR-CD. For the error you are getting, try to merge the vertices using vmerge command.

thank you all for help. Because of tutorial 12.2 I realize the solid heat transfering settings. Really thank you all for help.~
