Dear All, I am a novice in star cd, and now I am trying to follow tutorial 11.1 of star-cd ver 3.22. But I face a problem when trying to follow the instruction for creating cgrid.cgrd file. What is actually I have to do? Thanks

In ProSTAR main menu: File -> Edit File... This brings the simple text editor. Just type and save

Dar Mr Anton
I folowed your suggestion and I got it, but then when I start to analyse the STAR, there is a massage comes from the star launch such as: PNP: Analyzing User coding in "ufile" directory. PNP: compiling /d//bin/f77 -O2 -f -v -N3 -N26 -N25 -Q101 !Q19 -c uparm.f -o windows-x86-absoft_8.2a-dso/uparm.obj PNP: /C/PROGRA~1/CDADAP~1/STAR-CD/bin/star: /d//bin/f77: No such file or directory PNP: ***ERROR*** Compilation error in user file "ufile/uparm.f". PNP: ==> Please check the compilation error messages. In my working directory, ufile directory was created and uparm.f file is also already there and I have edited instead. Should I install absoft8.2a for windows version? My computer only has f77 fortran software. Or is there any other error should I fixed up? Thanks |

The Absoft Fortran compiler is the only one you can use. Please read the installation notes.

And why do you need user subroutines for tutorial 11? Your grid change goes through cgrid.cgrd, so you don't need anything else. Moreover, if you use Star-CD v.3.2 or higher you have to delete 'ufile' folder if you don't use user subroutines - unless you'll not be able to start the simulation

Dear Anton
You are right I dont have to use uparm subroutine, and can run the star. But, another problem arises during simulation: I--------------------------------------------------| CALCULATION MONITORING INFORMATION |-------------------------------------------I |------------------------------------| TIME I------------------- GLOBAL RATE OF CHANGE -----------------I I------------ FIELD VALUES AT MONITORING LOCATION---------I STEP UVEL VVEL WVEL MASS T EN DISS ENTH U V W P TE ED T *** ERROR #096 *** CELL 589 HAS ZERO VOLUME AND IS NOT A DELETED CELL *** ERROR #096 *** CELL 590 HAS ZERO VOLUME AND IS NOT A DELETED CELL *** ERROR #096 *** CELL 591 HAS ZERO VOLUME AND IS NOT A DELETED CELL *** ERROR #096 *** CELL 592 HAS ZERO VOLUME AND IS NOT A DELETED CELL etc... and also sed: -e expression #2, char 10: Unterminated `s' command sed: -e expression #2, char 10: Unterminated `s' command I will check again, whether I made any typing mistake. . Thanks. |
