Hallo all!

I am new to the CFD topic, therefore I would appreciate any help you can give. Does anyone have experience in smoke and fire simulation with star cd or star ccm? Do you know any problems with it?

hi, i'm not sure how well smoke or fire modelling can be done using Star,

some things you may check up on the internet that are specifically related to smoke/fire cfd simulation are

FDS at nist (fire dynamics simulator) its free..

these are aimed at running large thermally driven buoyant flows and aimed at smoke/fire propagation distribution,

i am aware of the use of active scalar in Star to model concentation and distribution of contaminant but this is very different to full fire/smoke simulation.

again i would appreciate others views on this
