Hi all,
can anybody tell me how to display the free surface in post processing. In website http://www.starsolutions.co.za/ Mr. Brian Cannoo has explained how to display good isosurface. This is very nice. But in that case one can display only isosurface (free surface), which is not realastic view. In reality free surface is top surface of the heavy fluid. I want to display that heavy fluid with light and shading to get realistic view. I agree without shell generation at iso-surface of VOF=0.5, it is not possible. So my question is that how to display free surface with heavy fluid on display. Thanks. |

Use the isosurface for which VOF=0.5. This is the definition of the free-surface. Then get the display of the rest of the fluid as contour using 2 levels and clipping every value which is below 0.5 (that should give you the heavy fluid only).
Hope this helps... |

Thanks 4xf. But how to clip values below 0.5. If I use
getc none conc 1 cset,news,pran,4,0.5 then plot will not be smooth. Since whole cell(s) on the isosurface will appear. Thanks |

Hi 4Xf,
I tried the option suggested by you. But when I do that, and try to disply VOF above 0.5, it will disply VOF below 0.5 as blue. It does not make it invisible/transperent. Still in problem. Thanks |
