Dear All,

I am doing cooling analysis with conjugate heat transfer method. No radiation effects are involved.

When I do check All, it gives no error and writes Geom and Prob files. When I start the analysis, it gives the following error.

? FORTRAN Runtime Error: ? Illegal character in numeric input ? READ(UNIT=10,... ? FORTRAN Runtime Error: ? Illegal character in numeric input ? READ(UNIT=10,...

I am not using any user subroutines in the model.I have checked all the panels and there is no panel with user subroutine ON.

Please Help me

Unit 10 is the problem file. The error means that the file has been somehow corrupted (by editing it for example). Rewrite your problem file nad everything should be fine.

It could be a bug in pro-STAR too - maybe you've typed in a really big number for something and it's been written to the prob file as *******.

yeah, e.g. type in 9999999999 for # of iterations will give you ***** in your problem file.

I have checked the problem file and find some ****** in MATERIAL PROPERTIES section. I have created the new problem file. Still it has that ******. So I have edited the problem file manually and tried to give the run. Unfortunately, it is fiving the same error.

Here I am pasting the lines from prob file.

AIR(V) 0.900000E-01 1.44000 1.92000 1.44000 -.330000 0.419000 6.00000 70.0000 0.230000

0 0 T ****** 0.520000 0.720000E-01 0.900000E-01 2.00000 2.00000 0.900000E-01 1.44000

Any other suggestions to fix this problem....

The numbers before the **** look like turbulence model constants. Have you entered a big number for any of those? In any case, prostar should be able to do better. Have you reported a bug?

I have noticed very big no inprob file(some thing like E-38). But when i checked my model file in STAR for all material properties section, i did not found any such no in any panel.

Is those numbers are generated by STAR based on type of analysis???( mine is turbulent steady state with K/E high reynolds number)
