VIEW FACTOR CALCULATIONS

Hi all,
I am facing problems with radiation patches: I am working with a model with radiatioan activated, defined patches on the boundery conditions... and it works fine (geom file is OK, and calculation of *.vfs file just befor the solvinng phase works (View Factor Calculations)) Now I want to refine the dimenssion of my patches, lets say from 100 to 50 or even 20 (I did try both). Then if I launch the updated model, the solver does not actually run as the file *.vfs is not written! The calculation of the view factor gets stuck half way through... I frequently ask the support but on that issue got no explaination so far. Hopefully some of you guys already encounter the same problem and could give me a hint... Thanks in advance, Cedric |

View factor calculation requires considerable time and *.vfs file is also very large. Just check if the file size is going beyond 2GB. If yes that can be a problem on windows system.

Thanks for the answer, I know the *.fvs file can become quite large (I actually have a calculation running with 4.7GB file under LINUX). I also let the process run more tan one hour, to see if it was time dependent. But so far, it just get stuck half-way. Anyway... I'll just have to find my way around that. Cheers
