rcons and switches are used to activate beta level and advanced features not available in the rest of the gui or through commands. They are very specific and shouldnt be used without contacting your local support office first.

You should use this only when you have problems with the run( Strongly recommandation) Switch 50 is in usefull in generell: writes a *.ctrl file for URFs. It will be read at every timestep.
