about star-cd's psst file larger than 2G

There is a bug in old version of starcd.The Pstt file can not larger than 2Gbyte.I hear that new version have solved this problem,have not it?
which version for windows could? |

Yes, there is a 2GB border. That belongs to StarCD. The next boarder is the 4GB, which belongs to the 32bit OS. I think in general it is not recommanded to use such big files. Is the file corrupt for any reason, all results are distroyed.
I suppose that the this problem arise with transient calculations. The remedy is to use a backup frequency. So you can write out each time step in its own *.pst file. with a loop you can load each *.pst_xxxx file step by step to print out pictures for to generate movies. |

Ok! It is a good idea ,I could try ! Thank u! Yes ,before this time ,i rename *.pstt file ,every two hours, when it come near 2 Gbyte. But the whole run time is 20 hours. So I have to be awake to change its name. Now ,may I could sleep well. Thanks again.

OK Kevin, here it is: Sorry, but I don't want to give you my whole automatism for postprocessing. Without extensive explanation you won't be lucky with it, but with this example you can make your own thoughts for automatism.
