starwatch deamon error

Dear friends,
While running the starwatch utility I am getting the follwing error message when trying to connect to a host: Error- the starwatch server daemon is not registered I am working on a Windows 2000 professional PC. Thanks |

start the starwatch daemon first, then start starwatch, then start your star job, wait for star to register with the daemon, then get starwatch to monitor

Many thanks Kevin. I tried your mentioned way and also some other ways but it did not work. Then one of my senior colleague advised me to re-install it and during installation set the "set starwatch port" manually by clicking yes on the set starwatch port dialog box which shown as below: ******************************************** Set Starwatch por ------------------- The starwatch solution monitoring program must be assigned a well known port number either on your local machine or on your network domain_name server. Do you want to modify your local service file? Yes / NO ************************************************** ** You have to click on yes and either give a new port number or accept the default one. Both works. |
