Hello all,
I'm studying a laminar steady flow in a quite complex geometry. My problem is: after changing to the new version of star, I can't reach convergence anymore. Does anyone know about changes of default values? Or something different? Thanks, Nicola |

Look at the release notes:
The default value for the pressure under-relaxation has been changed from 0.2 to 0.3. The default residual normalization factor has been changed to what used to be the 'alternative' factor in v3.10. etc... |

I think the whole normalisation method has changed. Not only a factor. In my opinion the former switch 105 is now used by default.

This is what I meant. I just copied the text from the release notes (look there for further details.)

Also the pressure gradient calculation was changed. You can switch back to the old (least square) method using "switch 60 on"

Use Help menu in prostar or look in $STARDIR/man/rnotes.
