Default Building solid cells

Hi, I have just started tutoring STAR-CD. Currently my project group is working to model a simple rectangular duct problem. We are trying to model two parallel solid plates by marking some cells as solid. That is to say; solid partitions are build by cell modify method.

However when we BUILD SOLID CELLS AFTER MESH REFINEMENT (i.e. by modifying the refined cells as solid) model set-up is found to have CRACKS at the modified solid region. Producing [Error 74]. We may be missing some switch related to mesh refinement since all is normal if we refine cells after building solid partitions.

Thanks everybody in advance for posting comments and sparing time.
