I am doing an evaluation of Star CD. I'll use Star CD because of its features in handling of moveing and changing grids. But I am not sure whether it works stably for high tempearture (300 to 20000 K) and pressure (10 to 100 bar) gradient. Are there any disadvantages of Star CD comparing to another CFD codes such as Fluent, CFX etc in the calculation stability and efficiency? I am thankfull to your opinions.

I don't think that there is an absolute answer to your question. It always depends on what your are simulating and you should compare these codes on your own case. STAR-CD may be the only code has the moving mesh (cell de/activation) feature.
