Hello together,
at the moment Iīm doing my bachelor thesis. Itīs about modeling the free jet of an APS-process (atmospheric plasma spray) and validation of the particle distribution. Iīm using NX11 and there are solvers for compressible and high speed flow. The particle distribution is not the problem. Itīs very robust to solve particle when the flow field has envolved 1. model / boundary conditons Iīm using a cylindrical domain, with an mass flow inlet for argon and hydrogen gas. The particle transport gas is also defined by mass flow. The back wall is defined as wall, the other sides as openings to ambient conditions (normal pressure and temp.). 2. material properties I have the material properties from begin of gas phase up to 30000K. They are used tabular with interpolation (If someone knows how to get real-gas-behaviour it would be very useful*). I donīt know exactly how the plasma behaviour is, but the mat. prop. should fit in this area. *i guess itīs not enough to use compressible flow and high speed flow in the flow solver...? 3. results I got results for thermal load up to 8000W. (Defined by the Inlet) The particle distribution fits very good to measurements, but i need thermal loads up to 20000W to raise up the free stream. Now its about 30° to horizontal. It should be less. I have problems with the solver convergence, caused by problems to calculate the pressure or enthalpy. Does someone know how I can get higher with the thermal load? (Defining plasma behaviour, improving solver) Thank you very much. Last edited by CFD Germany; November 20, 2017 at 07:49. |
