Hey everyone,

I'm relatively new to CFD so my question might sound a bit silly. But this forum is meant for such questions and I would be grateful if anyone could provide some insight into my issue.

I'm trying to study the propwash effects of a propeller on the aerodynamic performance of the horizontal stabilizer of a powered glider. For some initial studies, I am simulating just the propeller with the pylon and nacelle and the tailplane of the aircraft. I also have a rotating region in order to simulate the propeller rotation.

For the meshing, I'm using the parts based automated mesh operation with the surface remesher, timmed cell mesher and prism layer models activated. However I'm noticing quite a lot of strangely shaped cells in the area where the prism layer is located. You can see what I am talking about in the attached pictures.

Meshing parameters:
Base size: 0.003m
surface growth rate: 1.1
20 prism layers
Prism layer near wall thickness: 0.000020494809902570113 (calculated for a desired y+ value of 1.0)
Prism layer total thickness: 0.005m

Prism layer properties: Attached in images

I'm further using custom surface controls to refine the mesh in the horizontal stabilizer and the pylon, nacelle areas.

Minimum face validity is above 0.8 and the minimum volume change is above 1e-03. However, the skewness angles are too large

Could anyone please help me out in identifying the cause of this issue?

Thanks in advance.
