Dear reef3D users,
I just discovered reef3D and I am very impressed by the versatility of the different modules. The tutorials cases are quite straightforward to understand and easy to run. So I would like to say thank you to all developers of the code. My question is quite simple (maybe dumb) : is it possible to impose a constant (or time variable) inflow with the FNPF module ? To make it maybe easier to understand, I would like to redo the tutorial 10.5 "flow around a circular pier" except the cylinder never pierces the free-surface (fully submerged) and using the FNPF solver. I am interested in the generation of wake waves by immersed bodies. Is this configuration possible ? Reading the user guide it seems that the B 60 condition or W 10 discharge are not available with the FNPF solver. Am I right ? Thanks Sylvain |

Hi Sylvain,
current-only is not intended for FNPF, as it cannot handle rotational or viscous flow. I would recommend having a look at SFLOW for this, that will work. In the future, NHFLOW will be able to deal with this problem as well. |
