Dear REEF3D Team,

Similar to the image in section 9.37 of the REEF3D manual, I would like to export the free surface at each time step as a DAT file to assist me in subsequent processing.
For example, in a 3D scenario with 10 time steps, how should I export the spatial changes of the free surface for each time step?

I appreciate your assistance in advance.

Best regards,

cody

It is possible to print out the free surface as vtp file (see P180 onwards).

Hi Hans, thank you for responding to my question.
I recently reviewed the manual and also came across this command. It exports vtu files. Is there a way to convert them to dat files?
I want to be able to read them into MATLAB for subsequent data processing.

You could write from ParaView to csv.

Thank you for providing feedback on REEF3D.

The output from P180 looks very good. However, when I set up structures in REEF3D and output the free surface, the results around the structures are very strange. Additionally, in the results from ParaView, a peculiar free surface appears around the structures in the constricted area within the terrain region (image named paraview_fsf_30, marked with a blue check in the picture).

During the data post-processing, it seems that the CSV file did not export the free surface in the constricted area (image named matlab_fsf_30).
