Hello, REEF3D Team
I would like to use REEF3D to simulate the scour generated around a round pile under reciprocating flow conditions; for this, I am trying to record the scour results for one half-cycle using the P 40 option, and then after changing the flow direction, directly use I 40 for the second half-cycle. Is this the correct approach? The details of the parameters changed are as follows. For the first half-cycle simulation: B 60 1 I 10 1 I 40 0 P 40 1 S 19 1836(End of the first half-cycle) S 45 10.5(Preparation time before scouring begins) W 10 0.71(forward flow) (Flow simulation time is 30S) For the second half-cycle: B 60 1 I 10 1 I 40 1 P 40 1 S 19 3672(End of second half-cycle) S 45 40.5(Preparation time before scouring begins/First simulation end time is 30S) W 10 -0.71(reverse flow) Will the above setup correctly achieve reciprocating flow scouring? Thanks a million for your help. |

I think this will not work.
One option is to use hydrograph inflow and outflow files. The other one is to use the intermediate scour as the bed for the next simulation through the geo.dat file. |
