Hi, I'm completely new to Reef3d, but I dare to ask this question since I tried some time now
I specify a wave height and a period, and the wave elevation I get is far too small (specify H=0.08 and get amplitude ca 0.011). But very nice and smooth. Have tried several grids, since I guess the issue lies there, but no luck. control.txt C 11 6 C 12 3 C 13 3 C 14 7 C 15 21 C 16 3 B 1 0.03 B 2 300 1 100 B 10 0.0 10. 0.0 0.05 0.0 2.0 B 103 5 b 113 1.05 B 116 1.5 M 10 6 ctrl.txt: B 10 1 B 50 0.0001 B 90 1 B 92 4 B 93 0.08 1.0 B 96 4.0 8.0 B 98 2 B 99 2 D 10 4 D 20 2 D 30 1 F 30 3 F 40 3 F 42 1.0 F 60 1.5 I 12 1 N 40 3 N 41 40.0 N 47 0.25 M 10 6 P 10 1 P 21 1 P 30 0.05 P 51 5 0.025 W 22 -9.81 P 52 0.025 P 53 1 P 54 500 |

You have a 10 m long NWT in control.tct
You have a relaxation zone of 4 m from the start for wave generation. You have a relaxation zone of 8 m from the end for wave absorption. Therefore you have no working zone in your wave tank and no waves. Increase x max to say 40, then you have about 28 m of working zone (40-4-8= 28), between x= 4 and x= 32. You also try to use grid stretching in z, but without stretching. I would recommend that you start off with regular grids (take away B 2, B 101/2/3) and work with B 1 0.05/0.025/0.01 to start with. Then you will get a feel for the grid res and NWT quality. Acc. Bihs et al (2016) 80 cells per wavelength in x-direction is sufficient.
