Hello REEF3D team,

I have a few questions regarding hotstat using the P 40 and P 41

if i am given P 41 500 and after 4600 iterations i have stopped the simulation then what should be I 41, is it I 41 9 ?

Do I need to clear all the files from that folder except the ctrl and control file ?

Thank you

Hi Ajay,

yes, I 41 9 should work. No need to clear files.

Thank you sir for reply

In a simulation, I Define P 41 200 and stop the simulation after 3040 iterations, so essentially in the REEF3D_CFD_State folder there should be 15 files, but there are only 14 files.

I tried with both I 41 14 and I 41 15 but it's not working.

As shown in the picture I attached the simulation starts from the 22095 iteration and stops.

Thank you sir

Hello Team REEF3D,
I have tried hotstar approach with latest RC version, and previous version as well. It doesn't work. Although it works for master version-23.03.
Kindly look into it.

Thank you

Just checked the hotstart. I can confirm that it works.

If you select "P 40 1", then the state file "0" is continuously updated. For "P 40 2", the state files are written out in individually numbered files. That option had been missing from the most recent User Guide.

Hello Dr. Hans
I have been running my simulation on HPC using RC version, where I have found out that no hotstar file is created in 'REEF3D_CFD_STATE' folder. I am attaching the screenshot of the same.
While running on local system, it is working fine.

Thank you

Regards
Keshav

Could be related to permissions on your HPC system.
