Hi Arun, small query regarding wave generation.
To create waves within a numerical wave tank using a spectrum, is it essential to activate B 92 along with B 85, 86, 87, and 93? If so, which wave theory would be the appropriate choice for this scenario? Thank you |

For irregular waves, it is best to use B 92 31. The FNPF tutorial 8_4 on irregular wave propagation is a good starting point, have a look at the parameters used there.

Thank you for addressing my previous query regarding irregular wave generation.
I've reviewed FNPF tutorial 8_4 on irregular wave propagation and would like to understand how the number of wave components (B 86) and frequency limits (B 87) are determined. I also referred "Numerical Modelling of Irregular Waves with REEF3D" by Ankit Aggarwal, where it was suggested that increasing the number of components does not significantly affect results. Additionally, in the wave2foam manual, it was recommended to use 1/3Tp to 3/Tp for defining the frequency range. Could you please provide further clarification on these points? |
