Hi everyone,

I am trying to run a case with a breakwater, with some porous layers and a solid crown above. I have first started running the case without the breakwater and my domain and it works well (control_without.txt and ctrl_without.txt attached).
I found in this forum a way to add porous elements but even though the porous object is created when I start the simulation, it does not continue running and don't create vtu files. I can see that the porous object is well created with paraview (attached images). For the crown, I have added a solid object on the control.txt file (also attached control_breakwater.txt and ctrl_breakwater.txt). It would be of great help if someone knows where the mistake is.

Thank you!

Hi Mar,

In your input files with the breakwater, you have defined the grid size B 1 as 0.2 m. Whereas the extent of the domain in the y-direction in B 10 is just 0.1 m.

This means no cells are produced in the y-direction and the domain is not set up.

You do commit this error only in the files with the breakwater, the files without have 0.1 for both B1 and B 10.

Change B 1 to 0.1 OR B 10 y max to 0.2, your problem is solved
