Hi! I am doing muldirectional focused wave verification by reef3d,but It asymmetries along the direction of propagation. How to solve it?

I am not sure I understand your question. Could you please clarify with some more detail?

I mean I am doing a simulation of a muldirectional focused wave on a hill climb by reef3d,but the flow field is not right. It is not symmetrical along the centerline. How to solve the question?

Hi, as I understand it, the waves are propagating over a submerged hill, thus there is a shoaling process. That is a possible reason that the wave profile is not symmetric. I recommend that you run a test with flat bottom (constant water depth) first to see whether you get symmetric wave profile before you move on to the shoaling case.

Hi! I have done muldirectional focused wave propagation in an empty tank before, and the result is the same.

Hi!I try out some commands (ie:B 105)and the multi-directional focused wave improved. But it still differs from the corresponding article. How to control the wave position and wave propagation range?

Hi, Here are the example control files for 3D focused waves, you can use them as reference for your setup
Attached Files
File Type: txt control.txt (139 Bytes, 14 views)

Hi!Are your velocity contour results symmetrical along the centerline?
