Dear all,
I have been trying to model the scouring around vertical seawalls but the simulation stopped after 126 seconds saying 'EMERGENCY STOP -- velocities exceeding critical value N 61'.
I have tried with different wave types and mesh sizes. But I couldn't find the issue.
Input file is attached here.
I would be grateful if anyone could help to resolve this issue.

Thanks
Dainey

Hi Dainey,

I just had a quick look at your case, a couple of ideas:
- the wave tank can be much short, as you are having a flat bed
- the wave tank should be 2x water depth, yours is much higher
- the seawall should extend below the sediment level, no?
- print out the results more often (e.g. P 20 100)
- you use B 99 2, but don't define a relaxation zone length, best to go with B 99 0, since the sea wall should be fully reflective

With these changes you can run the case much quicker and see more of what is happening in the tank. In case you then still have problems, please post a follow up and I can have a look
