Hi Team REEF3D,
I tried to build a numerical water tank with current + wave use REEF3D, but the result of the operation was that the water level increased or decreased in the wave propagation area. I realized that in DiveMESH, the boundary conditions of the simulated wave tank are different from that of inflow model . I also observed that the velocities I set did not appear at the right end of the tank, so I think it is likely that there is a problem with the boundary condition settings. I want to know how the combined current + wave simulations can be realized. Thanks in advance, Best regards |

Hi Xing,
difficult to say, could you share your control files? |

Dear Hans,
For the purpose of correctly generating the model and verifying grid convergence, I have not added objects for the time being. I made different combinations of the C11 and C14 options in the control file, and the correct result was still not obtained. The attachment is the operation parameters my setting. Could you help me point out the cause of the problem? Best regards |

Simply looking at your input files, I can suggest the following:
in control.txt You are running a 3D domain with symmetry boundary conditions (C12, C13= 3). For a 3D simulation (with a 3D domain), C 12 and C 13 should be wall conditions, i.e C 12 & C 13 == 21 In ctrl.txt You dont need B 60 and B 61. For a wave+current case, you can simply use the wave tank and with a discharge (W 10, which you have). In order to the wave+ current inflow to work, you need B 98 3 (Dirichlet inflow) B 99 0 (no beach at the end, so that there is an outflow) That should be a start.

Hi Arun,
Thanks for your reply. I modified it using 9.7 in the tutorial as an example to turn off the wave absorption of the numerical beach (B 99 0) and test the simulation calculation of combined current+wave model. However, no matter what boundary conditions I used, the water in the calculation area did not flow out, but filled the whole numerical wave tank. |
