Hi all,

I know that Reef3D can be used for open channel flow, so could it also be applied to a drainage outfall like this?

(I hope this image works)

The main outflow would be the blue arrow through a 1.8m diameter pipe, and it would discharge to a river flowing along the orange arrows.

Oh I forgot to mention, there would be vertical walls on the edges of the flat areas; it would mostly serve as scour protection and the drops as energy dissipation. Schematic only.

Hi Ismael,

unfortunately, I can't see your images. In general, it sounds like the setup could made through the patchBC options (see B400s).

Hi Hans thanks for the fast reply; and sorry something must have happened because it loaded for me the other day. I hope this link works instead: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LEg...ew?usp=sharing

Of course to simplify I am thinking of just limiting flow from the pipe initially, and exit towards the downstream.

Thanks for the input! I will keep that in mind. I am still quite new to Reef3D (still playing with the tutorial files to see what happens) and will test these B400 controls later on.

Hi Ismael,

thanks for the image. I think this should work using the patchBC options.
