I have a NASA CRM grid I've imported and I want to take a 2D slice (not the symmetry plane) so that I can then run that using CFD, any idea how I can do so. Thanks.

Not sure if I understood the reason to do that but your answer depends on type of the mesh. If it is structured you slice the volume mesh at whatever station you need and export the sliced domain. If it is unstructured since you cannot slice the volume mesh the only way I could imagine working is to write a search script that collects all XYZ mesh nodes and then separate those with for example same Y coordinate and write them back as a single domain. Never done this but I assume it could work. Also not sure if you could export mesh coordinates from examine’s cut. In examine you can have a slice checking the mesh quality but not sure if it lets you export coordinates and import them later as an unstructured domain. |
