Hi,
I would like to simulate flow past a rounded geometry. Hence, I would like to mesh a domain around the geometry with structured grid. The geometry is: I can reach until this stage: So how do I "cover" the top using structured grid? Also, what if the top is also curved? I tried to do a rotation extrusion : but the grids on the top can't match with the side/bottom grid: So what can I do? Thanks for the help. |

Have you tried meshing the top grid first and then extrude the mesh to the bottom.

Hi bloodyzohair,
Would that make a difference? Because the problem lies in the curvature Anyway, I tried to use a Pointwise glf called TriQuad and it seems to work: Is there a better mtd or is this acceptable? I also realised that in some regions, it is not possible to join the blocks or domains together. As shown below, when I tried to join the highlighted region, only the white part can join, but not the red part. Is this expected? Thanks! |
