I'm trying to generate a grid for a wing with a sharp trailing edge (As shown in the image attached), however, I'm running into errors with the initializing the block. The log also shows, 'Could not import tets' error. I've already tried setting the 'Full layer' option to zero in order for the solver to generate multiple normals, but still no go. Does anyone here have an idea as to what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hello Jared:

My gut reaction is that you don't have enough memory (RAM) to import the tet mesh (it's generated in a separate process).

Not much help but it's the best I've got.

Of course, you can always email support@pointwise.com and provide your Customer ID and they can delve deeper (and provide more expertise).

Thanks for the input jchawner! I closed every program and had Pointwise running solo and the problem persists. I checked task manager, and saw that the memory (RAM) usage was at 27%, with most of it being used by Pointwise. Even reducing the cell count from ~1.5 million to ~500k, even down to ~20k didn't help. I'll keep inspecting the mesh.

You have a huge jump in the area ratio at the tip. You will need to cluster the cells in the spanwise direction near the tip to use the target grid size spacing used to mesh the wing tip surfaces. Your surface mesh area ratio should be below 10 before even attempting to generate the volume grid.
